Thursday, Komarek’s 7th grade soccer time tried to follow in 8th grade’s footsteps. Blinded by the setting sun, Christian Garza tried holding down the goal as Colin Griffin and Molly O’Toole held down the back of our field. A very fired up Skylar Cerny worked hard with Isaac Santoni, Emanuel Reyes, and Caleb Munoz to get the ball to the feet of our offense. Eric Watson and Andrew Lukwinski's skills were put to the test as they tried to overpower the aggressive defense.
In the second half, Ryan Lach held down the goal while we tried some new positions with Mark Litavecz and Lydia Scheidler switching it up to put some pressure on the other team. Aaliyah Jimenez, Clariza Villa, and David Waas tried their best to get the ball into Albright’s net but in the end, Albright got the better of us. We hope to put a W on the board against our nemesis Hauser on Monday at Veteran’s Park. Come out and cheer on your Wildcats!

The 8th grade team played strong and aggressively Thursday night in an overtime victory against Albright. With saves from Ian Hardin and at times other defenders who had to save close calls, the Wildcats allowed zero goals during regulation time. Noah Hoadley and Marta Janas used good communication to get the ball forward to make scoring chances while Maximus Bernal and Rocco Reyes helped to take command of the defense. Good crosses between Peter Rafael, Josh Villalobos and Axel Martel helped to keep things interesting on offense. Moira Ford controlled the center of the field, while Erik Pullen had some great passing to the outsides as well. Aaron Vazquez played solid in the stopper position and Daisy Murillo and Mustafa Syed made some tough stops. Though we battled tough on both ends, the score remained 0-0 at the end of 40 minutes. In the shootout, the Wildcats came up confident and calm. Axel and Sam got us off to a great start, burring both of their shots. Ian Hardin helped keep us on top with some great saves! Aliana Chiquito sealed the deal with such an outstanding shot that the Albright goalie never had a chance. In conclusion, we all used teamwork and communication to get a victory, and are looking for another win next week. We are currently 2-2 and both Coach Polanski and Coach Derrick feel the team is coming together and starting to operate on all cylinders. Go Wildcats!
