The State of Illinois Board of Education (ISBE) has once again put together the 5-Essentials Survey for students, parents, and Komarek staff to take. This survey was offered last year as part of ISBE's to gather information about school districts in Illinois. It allows participants to respond to questions about the strengths and weaknesses their schools and school district and education in general. Again, we strongly encourage parents to participate in this survey.

We thank you in advance for your participation.

Both boys’ basketball seasons ended yesterday vs. Lindop.  The 7th grade team held off Lindop in the first half with Damian Evans and Mike Schicker sinking five free throws. Tony Michalik was the mighty defender and scored 6 points along with Kentay McCottry scoring four.  Michael Ranieri battled the rebound scene. Garza, Waas, and DeLeonardis gave an intense press throughout the second half of the game with Josh Warren blocking two shots.  Isaac Santoni and Matthew Patino did their best to put pressure on the defense while Nico Panzani played very smart and kept driving to the basket when Lindop was not looking.  Even though Lindop won 29-50, Coach Derrick is proud of the 2-8 season.

The 8th grade game was quite different.  The Wildcats came out strong and mighty with Erin Redovan and Yassin Bouchama’s quick baskets.  The second quarter is when Lindop's offense took Komarek for a wild ride.  Dominic Melone kept drilling the ball until he sank a basket and Justin Padilla got two steals.  The third quarter is when the Wildcats came out again for Peter Rafael and Shiloh Washington sinking a three each.  The 4th quarter is when the Wildcats decided that everyone should score in the game so when Chris Robertson got wind of it, he took the ball and scored a two.  Aaron Vasquez wanted a piece of the action so he got in the paint with an offensive rebound, faked to the right and shot left for a basket.  Rolando Gonzalez dropped a basket and Adam Bojovic and Derwin Bass got so mangled up from intense defense they didn't know their shin from their foreheads, hopefully, they both have recovered by now!  To Coach Shesek, it does not matter that the boys lost 33-62.  She is so proud of her players’ 2nd place trophy.  It was a great season.  Thanks to the cheerleaders for their tremendous support and fantastic posters!  Go Wildcats.
