Band

Welcome back everyone! What a challenging year we had last school year! Learning music over Zoom was not ideal, and for those of you who stuck it out and made it all year I commend you. We are starting fresh this year however... so anyone who felt like band wasn't as fun or enjoyable online and may have decided to quit, you are all welcome back to rejoin the band for the 2021-2022 school year! We will be in person and will rehearse as a group once again.

If you played an instrument in band last year in the Cadet Band you are automatically graduated up to the Concert Band this year. Remember- this is even for students who dropped band during the school year. Concert Band will meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings before school on the stage off the main gym in the east building. We will hold our first rehearsal on Monday, August 23rd at 7:30AM. Please come and bring your instrument along. It will be the first time we have been able to make live music together in about a year and a half! And don't worry if you've forgotten things, everyone has! We will go slow and work as a group to learn some new and fun music together.

Also, if you have never played an instrument but think you might want to join the Beginning band please come to our Komarek Band Recruitment Night on Thursday, September 2nd at 7PM in the main gym. We will have all the band instruments there for you to try, and you can pick one out that night and even rent/purchase the instrument while you're at the meeting! Beginning Band is open to all Komarek students in the 5th grade or higher. I hope to see you all at our recruitment meeting!
