Band

Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable summer break. And I hope you’re all ready for another fun and exciting year in band!

If you played an instrument in the Beginning Band last year you are automatically graduated up to the Cadet Band this year. Cadet Band will rehearse Tuesdays after school from 3:15-4:00 PM, and you will also have a small group lesson every Tuesday during the school day. Our very first Cadet Band rehearsal of the school year will be on Tuesday, August 29th. At this rehearsal you will get new band music as well as a lesson schedule. You will also be assigned a band cubby to store your instrument. Please bring your band instrument and your Essential Elements Band Book to rehearsal on Tuesday, August 26th.

If you were a member of the Concert Band last year you are automatically enrolled in the Concert Band again for this school year. Concert Band will meet on Mondays and Thursdays  after school from 3:15-4:00PM just as we did last school year. We will hold our first rehearsal on Monday, August 25th at 3:15PM. Please come and bring your band instrument along. At rehearsal you will be assigned a band cubby and new music will be passed out, and you will also get a band lesson schedule.

Also, if you are a 5th grader or higher and think you might want to play in the band please come to our Komarek Beginning Band Recruitment Night on Wednesday, August 27th at 6:30PM in the Neil Pellicci Gymnasium. We will have all the band instruments there and you can pick one out that night and even rent/purchase the instrument while you're at the meeting! Remember- Beginning Band is open to all Komarek students currently in the 5th grade or higher. I hope to see you at our recruitment meeting!
